A New York Times article looks at some people that working on different interfaces for computers - touch screens, voice commands, 3-D web browsers, etc. I like all of this stuff, but article calls a keyboard and a mouse "tyranny." Tyranny? Voice command and 3-D browsers are nothing new. And they haven't caught on yet. Maybe because people don't like them? Just taking a stab here. Sure, this type of stuff has been expensive and clunky up until recently, but so were the first personal computers - and they still caught on. Touch screens are different to me, because it still takes the concepts of the keyboard and a mouse that people prefer (like... silence?) and moves them into a new direction. That may catch on, but I am not sure of the others. Any thoughts? Anyone reading this stuff at all? Bueller? Bueller?
